The world’s best cliff divers came to the famous city ofMostar (BIH) to hold a one-of-a-kind 28m event off ‘Stari Most’ bridge – Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most renowned landmark. The 6th stop of2015 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series was the first ever in the country. Mostar’s iconic Stari Most bridge was a spectacular venue with a lot of high diving tradition -the first dives off the bridge date back to 1664. The brave athletes displayed their sport to the many spectators right in the heart of the city. The spot was the picturesque setting for the best cliff divers from around the world to take the plunge from the daunting height of 28m and enter the water at almost 90km/h (56 mph).

Eternalized in the city’s flag and coat of arms, life in Mostar has been centered on the humpback bridge ever since its construction in the 16th century. Iconic ‘Stari Most’ is a place where young men from Mostar plunge into the Neretva River to prove their courage in a test of maturity, and the tradition of diving competitions is almost 450 years old. Gracefully arching over the emerald water ofNeretva River, connecting two parts of the old town in Mostar, it’s surrounded by fortified towers on both sides and fits seamlessly into the landscape, creating an impressive sight. The bridge is, together with the surrounding Old City of Mostar, aUNESCO’s World Heritage Site, and is often cited as one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.

Rising star Jonathan Paredes (MEX) showed a solid performance and claimed his first place finish ever. Behind the Mexican, wildcard diverSergio Guzman (MEX) came in strong and took home second place and David Colturi (USA) finished third.Guzman becomes the first ever wildcard to score a podium finish.

The Mexican double breaks Gary Hunt (UK) winning streak. He finished 5th and secured his5th overall victory.
