New Team Russia 21 is preparing for its first season
In 2013, inside of the Russian Global Cycling Project has been launched a new cycling team for young talented and ambitious domestic riders in the under 21 category. The team was named “Team Russia 21”.
The participation of young and promising Russian riders in the national race calendar as well as the creation of the secondary growth for the continental teams of the Russian Global Cycling Project were pointed out as the main purposes of the new team.
In the debut season of 2013, the Team Russia 21 roster will include:
Viacheslav Akhmametyev (1993), Nikita Kugaevskii (1993), Aleksandr Mezhechev (1993), Artur Shaymuratov (1993), Ildar Arslanov (1994), Aydar Gareyshin (1994), Ruslan Giliazov (1994), Aleksei Leshchenko (1994), Matvey Mamykin (1994), Alexandr Stepanov (1994) and Vitalii Zhuchkov (1994).
The team will be managed by Russian specialists: Ilia Chernetckii and Vladimir Lichatchiov.
At the moment, Team Russia 21 is preparing for the upcoming season at the training camp in Alania (Turkey).
The “Cup of Abkhazya” in the end of February will be the first race in 2013 for the newly founded team.
