Who will be the next rising snowboard star?
The World Rookie Tour showcases the future of snowboarding as well as searching for the stars of tomorrow. The event program combines freestyle contests, in slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines, with many other lifestyle activities, offering a unique experience for all the participants.
Today’s pros like Peetu Piiroinen, Gjermund Braaten, Roope Tonteri, Sven Thorgren have been World Rookie Champions in the past. We will see who the next rising star is.
Perfect weather and conditions at the Mottolino Snowpark in Livigno, welcomed the 138 registered riders at the first two days.
Final Day at the 2013 WSF World Rookie Fest saw many of the most talented under 18 years snowboarders, challenging difficult weather conditions with wind and snow falls.
Ole Christian Hagen (17 years) from Norway and Valentina Barengo (17years) from Italy won the title of the event, one of the most wished awards in youth snowboard competitions.
The riding level was extremely high, it was insane. Already during the first training and the qualifications, even jumps like the backside 900, a backside double cork 1260 and a cab 540 were made by the kids.

Blue Sky and a perfect Mottolino Snowpark welcomed the day 1 at the 2013 WSF World Rookie
Fest in Livigno. With 138 registered riders it is the largest only youth snowboard event ever organized in the history of World Snowboard Federation (WSF) and TTR World Snowboard Tour.
As the number the participation was more than the expectation, the program schedule was changed and the day 1 turned in training and qualification for the Heat 1, with male groms and all the girls. The riding level was extremely high already during the first training and it culminated in an incredible run by 13 years old norwegian ripper Kleveland Marcus: switch backside 900, front side 720, backside double cork 1260 and cab 540. The feeling from the spectators was more to watch a pro event than a rookie slopestyle.
